On the dangers of wondering off the beaten track!

I have the wonderful NoScript extension installed in my default Firefox profile. Unfortunately this means that unless the developer has adopted a HIJAX approach to web page design, sometimes pages break in really unforeseen ways. I really should know better, but somehow you forget how much some people like javascript, so this post is for all those fellow Postgresql fans who happen to have NoScript installed.

TURN IT OFF BEFORE YOU RUN THE DRUPAL 6.0 INSTALL SCRIPT !

If that doesn’t work, then other things I did were 🙂

add drupal username to pg_hba.conf for localhost

modify sites/default/default.settings.php to reference your pqsql db uri

But I really think it was the lack of Javascript that had me staring at an Unable to connect to MySql error page for 2 hours last night no matter how many times I told drupal about pgsql 🙂
